Once again this year the walk was
well-supported by its regulars who were joined by some new faces. You would
have thought that with all the sunshine in March and April a day in the middle
of May would have been glorious. The sun when out was quite warm but it didn't
show its face that often and there was some rain for a time.
Courtesy of the local PCT the walk was started
from Grappenhall Clinic which gave some comfort to those doing the additions to
work out the money that would be raised. Pictured right is ex-committee member Jan on her friend dressed as Japanese geisha girls.

The refreshment table was manned at the
halfway stage of the five-mile route by the always willing hands of supporters
Marney Hampson and mother of member John McQuillan Kath. (pictured left)John who should have
taken part in the walk was unfortunately on the day not able to do it.
The amount declared for cash raised was
£1,760 which if previous years are anything to go by will probably rise
to about £2,000.
There have been thoughts of cancelling the walk in
future years because of lack of support but we have decided that as those who
take part really do enjoy it. We will continue for the next few years.
